Redskins and Riley Agree To Contract
Mike Florio over at ProFootballTalk reported earlier today that the Redskins have agreed to terms on a contract with their 2010 fourth-round pick, linebacker Perry Riley.
The Redskins have now signed 5 of their 6 2010 draft picks (the team signed the other 4 earlier this week). That's a good position to be in with over a month to go before the start of training camp on July 29.
Of course, that one remaining holdout is much-hyped first-round selection Trent Williams, whom the Redskins are hoping will bring needed youth and effectiveness to the team's oft-maligned O-line. But don't worry that he's not signed just yet. For one thing, first-rounders always take longer to sign because their agents spend far more time on their deals in order to secure a more lucrative deal that the agent can add to their resumes to attract next year's crop of draftees. Also, Williams recently fired his own agent, so he'll probably be spending more time on finding a replacement first.
